The end of Life

I remember writing this poem well, don't remember where it came from but some of these are dark!

A man lay in bed, his wife by his side
He laid there so sick, just waiting to die
He looked up at her as he took his final breath
And he knew in that moment that he would face death.
After he died, about an hour or so
His wife reached into the pocket of his coat
She pulled out a letter, unsure what it said
She unfolded it slowly to find that it read:

"I know it was you, i'll tell you at last
I know it was you that put the poison in the glass
But I have one last wish you must let prevail
Please don't let them put you in Jail
I know you killed me but I don't hate you
I forgive you for this and I say that so true
This won't stop my love for you
I know that you hate me but I still love you."
