Tribute to Elspeth and Paolo Berardelli and family
They moved away from town for a life out on the farm
They never asked for any more than some good friends and a barn
There the hill was in its beauty and the fields shone like a star
Where Paolo and Elspeth worked the land of the Great Glen near and far
And on the ranch they worked everyday
They never stopped for wheather or what others had to say
From sheep and cattle farming, to raising the family
On the ranch they worked everyday
They loved everyone they met, and everyone loved them
And they took kids in to show them just how farm life has been
They gave the world five children, who grew up kind and strong
And raised them well so they knew what was right and what was wrong
They had many storms and hurdles all throughout their lives
But they always just fought through it and worked all day and night
And whatever was coming next they had no way of knowing
But it didn't matter what happend, they always kept on going
And through it all it's remarkable how well they raised those kids
And how proud they are of Fergus, Giorgio, Carla, Anna and Liv
And I wonder what I ever did to be worthy of their care
Cause they treated me like family, either on the farm or anywhere
And when I'm out with them in the rain, sun or snow
We're all just people trying our best and thats all that really matters, you know?
